Venture Center, a premier incubator for science-driven enterprises in India, has partnered with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) to enhance technology transfer offices (TTOs) in Indian institutions. This initiative aims to boost commercialization of innovations, fostering stronger industry-academia collaboration in research, development, and deployment.

The partnership aligns with the ongoing Facility for Low Carbon Technology Deployment (FLCTD) project, led by UNIDO and BEE. This project has already helped over 30 climate-tech startups de-risk and commercialize their innovations for industrial and commercial sectors. Now, FLCTD is expanding its efforts to strengthen technology transfer in academic and research institutions, ensuring Indian industries benefit from cutting-edge scientific research.

To facilitate this, Venture Center will develop a Technology Transfer Handbook and implement a training program targeted at startups, researchers, faculty, technology transfer professionals, and policymakers.

Leadership Perspectives

Sandeep Tandon, National Project Manager, FLCTD Project, UNIDO, emphasized:

“Climate change is a global challenge, and innovation will play a crucial role in reducing energy and environmental footprints. This partnership with Venture Center will create a strong foundation for technology transfer, benefiting startups, researchers, and professionals.”
